Honesty!
What is honesty? Is it what we tell others or is it what we tell ourselves. Is it easy to forget the truth, or is it just harder to remember it? Do we make our own truths? I'm using a lot of question marks here but is that the point? Are there always question marks? Or is there some certainty at some point? All question marks aside, it's a fine line, in my opinion. My high school moto was "The truth will set you free". Growing up, as somewhat of a delinquent, I felt like i had little need for "the truth" but i found out that it was such a surprise to the powers that be when i actually did use that philosophy at times that they were so shocked and i was exonerated! lol. I have blamed my past sneakiness and belligerence on my birth mother and her possible genetic influence but have since discovered that we make our own choices in life. Choice is the most used verb in the English language and for a good reason. We choose our own paths however good or bad. I've been told before that one of my own downfalls is that i am too honest. Is there such a thing? Perhaps there is! I guess finding the fine line between what you say and what you want to say is the answer. That is something that will always be up for debate and i guess that is why i ramble in my blog!!! Be honest to your family and the ones that you love but at the end of the day if you can't be honest with yourself you might as well give up now!

Therapy???????
I heard a psychologist on the radio today urge people to seek counselling if they are distraught over the death of a character on the aussie soap "Packed to the rafters". Apparently a lot of people are overcome with grief over this incident. You have got to be kidding me!!!!!!! Do we really live in a society where people's own lives are so inadequate that the death of a fictional t.v character has them turning to professional help and grief counselling????? I would expect this from certain aspects of American culture but i thought that us Australians were a bit more down to earth than that. I understand that t.v is a useful tool for us to escape our everyday lives for a short while and i have known people to cry over sad scenes in movies and books. You would have to have a heart of stone not to feel sadness when Bambis' mother died lol. But counselling!!!!! What is the world coming to? How about a bit of perspective people! 30 years ago, if you had professional counselling, it would have been for a major 'real life' tragedy. Now the psychology/counselling business is booming. There are even psychologists that specialise in animals and pets! (I laughed uncontrollably when i heard that one!) Don't get me wrong, i am not knocking the industry. I myself have seen 2 psychologists and even a psychiatrist in my time, but that was for behavioural problems and anxiety. I'm not saying that my problems are necessarily greater than anyone elses but if you need to seek therapy over the death of a fictional character, you're going to need a LOT more help than you think!
